Educational : Larapi Child & Family Learning Centre

The new Larapi* Child and Family Learning Centre (CFLC) in Wynyard provides a safe and welcoming space for our youngest children, their families and carers.

Larapi CFLC has been community-led, from the beginning, by a Local Enabling Group made up of local community members.

From the unique steel awning, curved exterior walls and brick face work features, Larapi CFLC provides great ambience to support families to improve the health, well-being and education of young children 0-5 years, by supporting parents and enhancing accessibility services. The building was environmentally designed around existing trees and vegetation. It provides natural light into the internal educational spaces. Wynyard township has a tulip theme and Larapi landscaping features tulip head shaped coloured fence panel.  

The quality standards achieved during the works were compliant with our third party audited certifications: ISO 14001:2015,  9001:2015 and 45001:2018.

*Larapi (pronounced lah-rah-pee) means Flowerdale River in Tasmanian Aboriginal palawa kani.
