The Burnie Waterfront $3.5 million redevelopment was a design and construct project that began in 2011 and was completed during January 2012.

Stubbs Constructions manufactured all of the pre-cast concrete for this project and constructed all civil elements.

The project included piled footings, pre-cast elements such as terraces and stairs, concrete pavement, handrails, landscaping, playgrounds and a water playground.

Stubbs Constructions won the Civil Construction (Open Value) Master Builders Association Tasmania award for Excellence in 2012 for this project.

Construction had to be managed with consideration of the tides. Excavations needed to be de-watered depending on tidal conditions. The project has successfully weathered many storm events and resulted in a significant cost saving for the client.
