This Project awarded to Stubbs
Constructions Pty. Ltd. in a competitive tender environment.
This Project involved the construction of a 4,500 m2 storage
building. The head contract was managed by Tasmanian Consulting
Service, with Stubbs Constructions Pty. Ltd. completing the
piling, footings, and concrete panels.
Due to poor ground conditions, steel piles
were required at column locations. These were installed using
an excavator mounted hydraulic pile driver.
A total of 150 m2 concrete was formed,
placed & finished in the in-situ concrete footings. It was
critical to the overall construction process that the hold down
bolts for the columns be installed in these footings with a
tolerance of only 2 mm. This was achieved, with all cast-in
items correctly installed.
The major part of Stubbs Constructions
Pty. Ltd. work was the manufacture & installation of 70
No. pre-cast panels. The large 200 mm thick panels were manufactured
on site, being cast on specially made casting beds. The smaller
panels were constructed at our River Road per-cast facility.
Due to the panels have a natural unpainted finish the finish
was of a very high standard.
The panels were installed by Stubbs Constructions
Pty. Ltd. utilising mobile hydraulic cranage. The Project required
that the panels be installed with the smaller panels stacked
on top of the larger ones.
