Constructed on the banks of Lake St. Claire
in a national park, this Project required strict environmental
controls, to ensure construction did not impact on this sensitive
area.
The location was also subject to extreme
weather conditions. During winter, snow was often 300 mm deep
on the construction site.
The Project was completed over an existing
swamp, and required the installation of treated timber piles.
The building showcases Tasmanian timber, with an al timber construction.
Speciality ply linings, Celery poles, and timber decking providing
a “gateway” to the Tasmanian wilderness. |
